What creature was this?
It was spotted in the empty store next to Mitiello's , which is filled with strewn-about garbage, just as I was thinking, I wonder why I don't see any critters in there.

Looks like a chicken to me. We nature photogs always try to put something in the picture that lets you know the scale of the picture. It can be almost anything recognizable that's handy. So it's tough for me to tell how big the bird is.

Mourning dove I think, we have a slew of those. They always love to fly off the street just at the last instant before they get run over. One bird just didn't make it a while back and I drove through an explosion of feathers.
