Awwww.

Ever get a parking ticket that was so cheap, that when you discovered it, it actually cheered you up?

I did, on Friday, after not realizing I had to pay a meter.

Ticket This is such a welcome change, coming from a city where I had to plan my life around the local street parking regulations, or pay the steep price. Stupid meter maid/meter man...still hate them so much...

how much are parking tickets in new york?

Sheesh, don't get me started on the Jersey City Parking Authority. Bunch of fascists, they are.

And it's been about 5 years since I got a parking ticket in New York City, but the last one was for an expired meter and it was $85. I think it's significantly higher now.

Another reason why I refuse to buy a car.

Austin, parking tickets in NYC are, like, a million dollars now. And that's if you're lucky enough to 'just' get a ticket.

And Colleen, AWWW!

I almost want to pay this for you.

Almost.

That's silly.

I'm with Roopa.

awww, now that's the cutest thing i've ever seen

Check out old school and folksy the ticket was...like old school library book cards with the due date printed on it. Cute.

A few years ago, I used to work at a school with no parking lot, so I would park at a meter that took nickels-NICKELS!! And the tickets were $3.00 if you didn't have enough nickels.

MeanieT, was the school you worked at in The Nineteen Sixties?

No, Lioux, but that would have been cool to have been around back then! Just a country school in the middle of nowhere in PA.

Not long before I moved to NYC from Detroit, my car got towed because my boyfriend at the time kept borrowing my car and not paying the meters.

The crime? $250 in back parking tickets. The kicker? They had been $5 each! So glad I left his cheap ass in Detroit.
